Since our trial merger was approved by membership in July 2009, OPEIU added benefits at no additional cost to our members.
One of the most utilized Benefits is the Disability Benefit. We have had 33 members, who were off work for medical reasons, file disability claims.
If you have been off work for at least three consecutive weeks and haven’t yet filed a claim, please contact me for details. Eligible members can receive up to $250.00.
Another widely used benefit is towing and road side assistance. Each member should have a towing card that can be used by yourself or anyone living in your household. This card may be used two times per year.
Watch your mail because within the next month, each of you should be receiving a new towing card along with details on its usage. Please replace your old card with this one.
Also watch your mail for a new Perks Card. Each of you should receive a replacement card within the next month.
Our newest addition to your benefit package is AFLAC benefits for members who voluntarily choose to participate at substantially discounted rates. The benefits include Accident insurance, Cancer insurance, Short-Term Disability insurance, and Dental and Vision insurance.
