MGE & OPEIU Local 39 Bargaining

The MGE Bargaining Team met with the Company today.  Both parties went over their proposals and explained issues, concerns and had general discussion on various items.  We provided the Company with our language proposals and they in turn provided theirs to us.

The Company accepted our language proposals on the following:

• U 18 - New Hire probation – Written notice to Union for any extension.
• U 21 - Maintenance of Membership – Clarified language.
• U 24 - Employee Orientation – Allow steward to participate in orientation.
• U 31 - Uniform Allowance – Increased allowance to $250
• Agreed to several language clean-up items (dates, typos, etc.)

The Union accepted the Company's proposals on the following:

• Catastrophic Leave – Allows for more efficient distribution between employee groups.
• Unsuccessful Bidders Notification – HR will notify employee vs. their supervisor.

We are scheduled to meet Wednesday and Thursday, March 18 & 19, jointly with IBEW 2304 and the Company to discuss Health Care and Pension.
