On August 20th, 2025, the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board (IELRB) unanimously voted to certify a bargaining unit of more than 170 student housing workers at the University of Illinois - Chicago (UIC). The Board’s decision marks the first time collective bargaining rights have been formally recognized for undergraduate student employees in Illinois’ public university system. 

On Monday, August 4th, around 100 workers and supporters rallied in front of the Pathfinders office to demand Pathfinders management voluntarily recognize the union and agree to remain neutral!

On Monday, November 18th, workers at Health & Medicine Policy Research Group (“Health & Medicine”), located in Chicago, Illinois, won Voluntary Recognition of their union!

Local 39 recently hosted the “Summer Sizzler” at the Warner Park Community Center in Madison, WI. At this end-of-Summer picnic, workers and their families from a variety of our organized workplaces played games, ate food, and previewed the upcoming TruStage Strike documentary "Out of Office!"
